The Midland Police Department (MPD) is set to participate in a career fair in Lubbock on February 19.
According to a February 18 Facebook post, representatives from the MPD will be present at the Red Raider Job Fair, held at the Texas Tech Union Building located at 15th Street and Akron Avenue.
Prospective applicants attending the event will have the chance to engage with officers, ask questions, and gain insights into joining the police force. "If you’re ready to start a career with the Midland Police Department, come meet us and learn more about the exciting opportunities we have available," said the police department in their post. "We can't wait to see you there!"
This appearance follows MPD's recent participation in two career fairs held in El Paso earlier this month. According to information on the Permian Basin law enforcement agency’s website, those interested in applying must meet several criteria: possessing at least a high school diploma or GED, being 21 years of age or older, holding a valid Texas driver’s license, and having no felony convictions. Additionally, applicants must fulfill all conditions necessary for obtaining the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education Basic Peace Officer Certification.
