Midland Education Foundation provides annual report on grant funding at trustee meeting

The Midland Education Foundation recently presented its annual report to the Midland Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees.

According to a news release, the foundation has awarded 33 innovative grants totaling $141,086 to teachers at 15 campuses, impacting 11,962 students. The Grants for Great Minds program provided scholarships amounting to $46,000 for teachers pursuing higher education, benefiting 92 Midland ISD staff members. Additionally, Micro Grants were distributed, totaling $83,000 and affecting 107 classrooms across 20 campuses and 19,795 students.

The news release further said that other programs funded by the foundation included district initiatives such as the Teacher Winter Wishes Spectacular, Shining Stars breakfast, AP Teacher Score Incentive, and Designated Scholarships. In 2024, the foundation received donations amounting to $2.2 million.

The foundation announced it will focus on the Serve for Success Pickleball Tournament scheduled for April. The Enhancing Partners in Education campus support initiative, PIE grants, and the AP Score Incentive are also key priorities for the foundation in 2025.
