Humorist, folklorist, and Texas tale teller Donna Ingham is scheduled to appear at the Murray Fasken Learning Resource Center as part of the Story Labs program.
According to a Midland Storytelling Festival Facebook post, Story Labs is a new initiative supported by Midland College (MC) and aimed at teens and adults. The Bertram resident enjoys crafting stories with Texas themes to engage audiences. Ingham will be present in room 21 of the Fasken Learning Resource Center from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 16.
The post states that Ingham is a published author and former college professor with a Ph.D. in English who has appeared at festivals and conferences nationwide. Besides offering workshops, master classes, and training sessions, she assists public schools in developing programs.
Ingham has received the John Henry Faulk Award for "outstanding contributions to the art of storytelling" and a National Storytelling Oracle Regional Excellence Award for "exceptional commitment and exemplary contributions to the art of storytelling" during her career, according to the post. She has also been named the "Biggest Liar in Austin" seven times and the "Biggest Liar in Texas" four times.
