Cool temperatures in Midland expected over next two weeks

Residents can anticipate cooler temperatures this week, slightly warmer than those experienced over the past seven days.

"A weak cold front will bring in slightly cooler temperatures today with highs struggling to reach the lower 50s. Lows tonight will be cold again dropping into the 20s. #txwx #nmwx," the National Weather Service (NWS) Midland wrote on X.

According to the NWS forecasts, Monday is expected to have a high of 48 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 27, with wind gusts reaching up to 10 miles per hour in the afternoon. Tuesday is predicted to be sunny with a high near 52 and a low of 29. Wednesday will see a high of 55 with a low of 35. Temperatures are anticipated to rise slightly on Thursday with a high near 60 and a low of 44, while Friday's high will reach approximately 67.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has already forecasted another strong cold front for the week of January 19-25, where high temperatures across Texas could fall back to the 30s and 40s, with widespread freezing temperatures possible at night.
