A two-floor, co-ed residence hall at Midland College is set to undergo a $7 million renovation next month.

A January 2 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation notes that Vice President of Operations Derek Gasch is leading the project under the working title "Midland College O'Shaughnessy Hall Renovation." The project will involve renovating the 26,926 square-foot student housing building.

According to the TDLR filing, the Houston-based design firm DLR Group handled the architectural aspects of the renovation. The project is scheduled to begin on February 10 and conclude by July 24. O'Shaughnessy Hall is located at 3600 North Garfield Street.

According to the Midland College website, the student hall can accommodate 96 residents. Each room in the facility is double occupancy with its own bathroom, along with an adjoining study room shared by two rooms. Rooms are furnished with two twin beds, two desks, two locking wardrobe closets, and a vanity with a sink.
