Midland College has announced the appointment of Christine Gentry Foreman to the Board of Trustees. Foreman was sworn in during the Board meeting on December 17 by the Honorable Leah Robertson, filling the seat vacated by retiring Board member Steve Castle, according to a Midland College press release.
“We are thrilled to welcome Christine to the Midland College Board of Trustees,” said MC President Dr. Damon Kennedy. “Christine’s deep commitment to the Midland community, her passion for education, and her drive to make a positive impact will undoubtedly bring energy and perspective to our Board.
Kennedy said Foreman’s dedication to service and her strong ties to Midland “will help guide us as we continue to reimagine the future for our students and the community we serve.”
Foreman, a Midland native and former student of Midland College, expressed enthusiasm for her new role. “I’m excited to have the opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting and advancing the important work of Midland College alongside my eight fellow trustees,” she said.
Foreman’s background as a community advocate and servant leader includes a decade-long career as a Registered Nurse and years of volunteerism. Foreman currently serves as the Student Transformation State Director for Maxwell Leadership where she oversees the statewide implementation of iLEAD, a values-based student leadership development initiative created by John Maxwell.
Vice-Chairperson Charlene McBride (Place 6) and Mike Oestmann (Place 4) were also sworn in for new terms during the Board meeting, according to Midland College.
