Midland Independent School District (MISD) is reminding the public that students will be allowed to enjoy their winter break this week.
"Reminder: Students are released early on Thursday, Dec. 19," the district wrote in a Facebook post. "Please check with your campus for the dismissal schedule. Students do not have school on Friday, Dec. 20. Enjoy your winter break!"
According to the district calendar, Friday is an official campus workday with no school for students. Christmas break starts on Sunday, December 22, and runs until the second week of January. After two professional learning days for staff, MISD will begin its first day of the spring semester on January 8, 2025.
Spring break is slated for the week of March 9 through the 15th, according to the calendar. The district will wrap up the 2024-25 school year on May 21.
