With the holiday season approaching, the Midland Police Department (MPD) is advising residents to remain vigilant about their surroundings.
According to a December 13 Facebook post by MPD, the Permian Basin law enforcement agency urges shoppers and revelers to exercise caution when parking and exiting their vehicles. The post also advises individuals to monitor their belongings closely, as potential thieves may be seeking easy targets. "Let's work together to keep our community safe," MPD said in the post.
This is the third such advisory issued by authorities concerning holiday safety. Following the Thanksgiving holiday, MPD alerted residents to be cautious of porch pirates amid increased online shopping activity. Subsequently, police issued another warning to holiday shoppers, advising them to secure their vehicles while shopping to prevent break-ins.
