The Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) announced an arrest in a designated drug-free zone on November 26.
According to a Facebook post from the Permian Basin law enforcement agency, the MCSO Narcotics Unit was called to the 4300 block of Mercedes Drive regarding illicit narcotics distribution.
A search warrant was executed, resulting in the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana. Authorities subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for John Hardy Burkart on multiple charges of possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone and a charge of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.
Criner said that he remains committed to protecting the citizens of Midland County by arresting those who prey on citizens.
