The football seasons for the Midland Legacy Rebels and Midland High School Bulldogs concluded on Saturday. Despite their losses, Midland Independent School District (MISD) leaders expressed pride in their teams' performances.
According to posts by the Basin Sports Network, Euless Trinity defeated Midland Legacy 52-22 at Astound Broadband Stadium. Meanwhile, Midland High School's attempt to rally against Crowley ended in a 26-21 defeat at Abilene’s Shotwell Stadium.
"We are #MISDproud of @Coach_Fortune and @midlandhighfb. Congratulations on a great season," said MISD Athletic Director Alfred Acosta Jr. on X. Wes Torres, executive director of MISD athletics, shared similar sentiments for the Rebels: "#MISDProud of @Hartman3Clint and the @LHSrebelFB team for another great season!" Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Howard also congratulated both teams on X for their successful seasons.
The Basin Sports Network reported that JP Reyes connected with Aiden Serrano for a 12-yard touchdown, narrowing Euless Trinity's lead to 17-10 late in the second quarter. However, this was as close as the Rebels would get before Euless Trinity extended their lead in the second half. In Abilene, the Bulldogs were trailing 19-0 at halftime until running back Elijah McCoy scored an 8-yard touchdown run. The Bulldogs reduced Crowley's lead to 26-21 with just over three minutes remaining but were unable to regain possession after Crowley recovered an onside kick and ran out the clock.
