The Midland Police Department (MPD) has introduced a new Citizen Traffic Hotspot Reporting Map, aimed at enhancing road safety and efficiency.

According to MPD, the map was described in a November 20 Facebook post as "a new tool designed to make our streets safer and more efficient for everyone." The department said that citizens can use the map to report areas with traffic issues.

To utilize the map, users are directed to visit it online at https://bit.ly/MPDCitizenTrafficHotspot. They can pinpoint their area of concern, provide a brief description of the issue such as "frequent speeding during school hours," and submit their report. These submissions will be reviewed by officers and other team members to prioritize enforcement and safety measures.

Authorities have promoted the map as an additional method to ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. They encouraged residents to "spread the word and help us create a safer Midland."
