Midland College (MC) has announced that the Gas Compressor Association provided a donation to the school’s natural gas compression program.

The school expressed gratitude in a Facebook post. MC said: "Their generous donation of 30 textbooks and $18,900 helps us continue to prepare skilled technicians and workforce members who strengthen and serve our community. Partnerships like this make MC stronger, and we’re proud to work alongside GCA to build a brighter future for the Permian Basin."

According to the school’s website, natural gas compression is essential in various businesses that power critical machinery and systems necessary for operations. Natural gas compression technicians ensure that gas gathering units and transmission pipelines operate smoothly. These technicians are vital to the energy sector, offering numerous job opportunities for those pursuing a career in natural gas compression.

Students interested in becoming natural gas technicians may be eligible for funding and other financial assistance from Workforce Solutions, according to Midland College. There is a Workforce Solutions office located on the school’s main campus.
