Midland Independent School District’s (MISD) Career Day provided 8th-grade students with insights into a variety of career options available to them.

"Thank you to MISD Career and Technology Education, Junior Achievement of the Permian Basin, and all of the parents, professionals, and local business and industry partners that participated in the MISD Career Exploration Day this week. This event allowed 8th grade students to explore different career paths and learn about the skills and education needed for various professions. #madeinmisd #studentexperience," the district said in a Facebook post.

In October, the district announced their search for professionals willing to discuss their careers with 8th-grade students. Participants had the opportunity to speak at one of four junior high campuses within the district, engaging with students to help them consider their future paths.

According to the district, Career Exploration Day took place on November 13. The event featured individuals from diverse sectors such as homemaking, the oil industry, and local business leadership. These professionals spent 15 minutes speaking with 8th-grade students about their work. The aim was to guide students in making informed educational choices that align with their career interests.
