MIDLAND, TX - Melvin Wayne Jackson, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Manor Park in Midland, TX. Born in Colorado City, TX, to Lloyd Bedford and Elizabeth Jackson, Jackson completed high school in Colorado City and attended Sul Ross State University on scholarships for football and basketball. He played semi-pro football and held records at Colorado High School. Jackson married Barbara Moore in 1989 and owned MJ Painting for 20 years.

Preceded in death by his mother and siblings Barbara Johnson, Wanda Jackson, Tonnie Johnson, Cecil Johnson, and James ‘Alfred’ Johnson Jr., Jackson is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and father.

A celebration of Jackson's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Willowbrook Funeral Home in Midland, TX, with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Grosvenor, TX. Memorial contributions can be made to The Village at Manor Park. Willowbrook Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Midland are handling arrangements.
