Students at Legacy High School participated in activities designed to educate them about the dangers of vaping, facilitated by a prominent media entity known for its coverage of football teams in Texas.

"Midland Legacy welcomed the Vapes Down campaign this year! Be sure to vote for the Vapes Down Student Section of the year and lift your student section to the top! Voting ends this Thursday," said Dave Campbell's Texas Football on X.

According to Dave Campbell's Texas Football website, the sports outlet is currently conducting a "Loudest Student Section Challenge" in collaboration with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). The initiative aims to encourage students to pledge against vaping. The contest will run until October 31. Campbell encourages students to channel their energy into positive activities such as supporting their team, excelling academically and athletically, and demonstrating school spirit.

"Vaping can make it harder for you to achieve your goals, both academically and athletically," states the website. "It causes brain fog, depression, anxiety, and poor athletic performance. People may know that nicotine is addicting, but they likely don’t realize it can rewire the teenage brain."
