Members of the public are invited to Midland Independent School District's (MISD) grand opening of the renovated swine barn, which will take place during the Tall City Stock Show.
According to a MISD news release, a special ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand opening of the renovation project will be held at the Midland ISD Agriculture Education Center on October 26 at 10 a.m. The event is supported by MISD’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) department.
Officials from Legacy High School's Future Farmers of America (FFA) Program, district representatives, and special guests will be present during the event, according to the news release. The renovated swine barn is expected to enhance agriculture education for students by providing hands-on learning opportunities. Aside from preparing students for careers in agriculture, the barn will now offer practical experience to enhance their agricultural studies.
In July, Midland Legacy FFA posted on Facebook that numerous students and parents were assisting in setting up new hog pens for the project. "We are definitely excited and grateful for our new facility! Thank you to everyone who showed up to help get the work done today," the organization wrote.
