Bulldogs’ football team receives Volunteer of the Year Award

The Bulldogs’ football team has been awarded the Judge Pat Baskin Family Volunteer of the Year Award in the youth category.

According to the Midland Times, the selection process for the Beacon Awards is meticulous. Recipients are honored for their volunteer work in the community and for raising awareness of critical services provided by their organizations.

"Today the Midland High football team was honored with one of the 2024 Beacon Judge Pat Baskin Youth Family Youth Volunteer of the Year Award for their community service efforts off the field," wrote the Midland High Football Booster Club on Facebook. "Thank you to all of our freshman, JV and varsity players for your hours of service. And congratulations on your award!"

The Nonprofit Management Center states that the Beacon Awards highlight nonprofit organizations in the Permian Basin, with $1,000 given to every nominated organization. The Judge Pat Baskin Family and W.D. Noël Volunteer of the Year Awards recognize volunteers in specific communities. The Judge Pat Baskin Family Volunteer of the Year Award is designated for residents of Midland County, while the W.D. Noël Volunteer of the Year Award acknowledges Ector County residents.
