The Midland Police Department (MPD) is currently investigating a fatal vehicular accident that occurred on the night of October 15.
According to an October 17 Facebook post attributed to MPD, authorities were summoned to the scene in the northern part of the city where an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident claimed the life of a Weatherford woman. The identity of the deceased remains unknown at this time.
The Midland Fire Department (MFD) assisted police at the scene, which was determined to be near the 6600 block of Shawnee. The vehicle involved was identified as a Polaris 1000 ATV four-wheeler.
The post said that no arrests were made. Authorities are still attempting to contact the woman's next of kin.
