The Josh Abbott Band will perform at The Tailgate event center in Midland at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 to raise funds for The Fields Edge, a local non-profit dedicated to addressing homelessness.

The event is open to attendees 18 and older and tickets cost $13. All proceeds will support The Fields Edge’s efforts to raise awareness and provide resources to Midland's homeless community. According to The Texas Homeless Network, a flyer distributed by The Fields Edge, Midland is estimated to currently have 341 sheltered and unsheltered homeless individuals.

According to Caitlin Beer-Jones, Communications Manager for The Field’s Edge, there will be a silent auction featuring jewelry from Kathy Eastom, a Yeti cooler, a tailgate package with tickets to a Texas Tech game, and a wash certificate with car items from Mighty Wash.

The collaboration with the Josh Abbott Band was chosen by The Field’s Edge because their music “resonates” with the West Texas people and is “popular in this area,” Beer-Jones told Midland Times.

The event is sponsored by NRG Realty Group, PBEX, Community National Bank, and Permian Resources.
