The Midland Chamber has collaborated with the Permian Strategic Partnership and other chambers from West Texas to encourage voter registration ahead of the general election on November 5.

According to an October 1 Facebook post by the Midland Chamber, the deadline for voter registration in Texas is October 7. Citizens can verify their voter registration status at permianpartnership.org/get-out-the-vote.

The post also states that the chamber has certified voter registrars available to assist. To schedule an appointment, individuals can call (432) 683-3381 or email info@midland.biz.

According to VoteTexas.gov, eligibility criteria for voter registration include being a U.S. citizen, residing in the county where the application is submitted, being at least 17 years and ten months old when submitting the application, and being 18 years old on Election Day. Additionally, individuals must not be convicted felons or declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction as totally or partially mentally incapacitated without voting rights.
