Richard Ford Jackson, known as Dick, peacefully passed away at the age of 86 on June 2, 2024, at his home in Midland, Texas, where he was surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 5, 1938, in Bexar County, Texas, Richard was the son of Looney Hythe Jackson and Mercedes Thelma Jackson.

Completing his education with degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas and the University of Michigan, Richard worked with Mobil Oil for nearly three decades before moving to Saudi Aramco until his retirement in 1998. A man of deep faith, he taught Sunday school at Cockrell Hill Baptist Church and spent 53 years married to his beloved wife, Anne.

After a life filled with work in different countries and a dedication to family and church, Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Russell Jackson, Gregory Elliot Jackson, daughter Charla Kay Jackson, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

A memorial service will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Hospice of Midland.
