After graduating from Fort Stockton High School, Jimmy pursued further education at Odessa College, earning a certificate in drug and alcohol studies. His career journey included owning a Mexican Food Restaurant in Odessa, working as a case manager at a Drug and Rehab facility in Houston, and serving as a Teacher's Aide at Scharbauer Elementary in Midland.
Jimmy was known for his love of telling jokes and spending time with his loyal pet Chihuahua, Nacho. He volunteered at public libraries reading to children and was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Midland. Predeceased by his parents and siblings, Jimmy is survived by his brother Cosme Primera Jr., sister-in-law Soledad Primera, brother-in-law Miguel Ureta Sr., cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers at the funeral will include Cristian Nava, Noe Suarez, Jerome Chavez, Luciano Holguin III, Ruben Guevara, and Joshua Guevara. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
