"Be sure to take necessary precautions for any prolonged outdoor activities!" The high temperature today is expected to reach near 99 degrees Fahrenheit. However, if the city reaches 100 degrees, it will mark the earliest 100-degree day on record.
According to historical data, the earliest recorded 100-degree day in Midland was April 21, 1989. Despite this heatwave, NWS Midland anticipates a cold front that will bring temperatures down into the 80s as the work week begins.
A detailed forecast from NWS indicates that Sunday will experience a high of 99 degrees with wind gusts up to 15 mph tonight and a low of 66 degrees. Monday's weather is predicted to be sunny, with temperatures reaching a high near 80 degrees and a low of 57 degrees, accompanied by wind gusts up to 30 mph at night. On Tuesday, conditions are expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 77 degrees and a low of 60 degrees. Wednesday's forecast includes an anticipated high of 87 degrees and a low of 64 degrees. Thursday will see highs near 93 degrees and lows at 65 degrees, while Friday is expected to follow suit with highs near 87 and lows near 60, along with a chance of showers or thunderstorms at night.
