Daniel Ray Parkhurst, born on December 16, 1937, in Bristow, Oklahoma, passed away on June 20, 2024, in Midland, Texas. Known as Dan, he dedicated his life to the oil and gas industry, characterized by his unwavering determination and love for his family and faith. Dan graduated as salutatorian from Gypsy High School in 1955 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Central State College in 1959.

In his career, Dan worked for Skelly Oil Company before starting his own drilling company and acquiring oil and gas properties. He was a longtime resident of Midland, Texas, and a respected figure known for his knowledge, experience, and work ethic in the industry. An active member of First Baptist Church in Midland, Dan made a lasting impact on those around him.

Dan is survived by his wife DeDee, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his love of family, Texas Tech University, and his passion for drag racing. Dan's memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at First Baptist Church Chapel in Midland, with burial at Bristow City Cemetery in Bristow, Oklahoma.
