A pair of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) equipment outages have occurred at the Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF) so far this month.

According to the Permian Basin airport’s Facebook page, the outages were reported on September 18 and nearly a week ago on September 12.

MAF had just entered the off-season period following the busy summer travel season.

Each outage prompted the city of Midland and the airport to advise departing travelers to arrive early and expect flight delays because of increased wait times. Both took nearly an entire day to resolve.

In a September 19 Facebook post, MAF said that travelers had to wait up to 90 minutes at TSA lines, but the queues have since moved much faster.

As said on its website, MAF ranks eighth among primary commercial service airports in Texas. The airport is owned and operated by the city of Midland and offers more than 20 daily departures to several major airports including Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Dallas Love Field (DAL), Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), and Denver International Airport (DEN).
