A Midland police officer has been nominated for the city’s Be the Energy Award for assisting a DoorDash delivery driver. The officer has been identified as Garrett Grafe.

According to a September 18 Facebook post attributed to the Permian Basin law enforcement agency, Grafe stepped in for the Dasher who was unable to deliver an order to a citizen.

Grafe’s actions went unnoticed until a resident shared their appreciation on NextDoor, extolling the officer for his "remarkable" kindness, the post said.

The accolade derives its name from the city’s motto. The city congratulated Grafe in a Facebook post of its own.

Midland encourages citizens to use its new SeeClickFix online feature to report issues like potholes or park concerns.

SeeClickFix can also be used to recognize employees like Grafe for a job well done. The platform is accessible at https://www.midlandtexas.gov/1193/Report-an-IssueSeeClickFix.
