The West Texas Food Bank is partnering with the University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) to host a peanut butter drive during the UTPB Football tailgate. This event is part of the broader Hunger Action Month campaign aimed at raising awareness and providing support to families in need.

The peanut butter drive will take place on Sept. 14 at Astound Broadband Stadium. Fans attending the UTPB Football game are encouraged to bring jars of peanut butter to the tailgate, starting at 3 p.m. The Falcon Walk, a UTPB tradition, will follow at 4 p.m.

According to West Texas Food Bank officials, peanut butter is a particularly sought-after item and is highly requested at food banks due to its high nutritional value, long shelf life, and versatility.

Donations collected during the event will be distributed to families across West Texas. The West Texas Food Bank emphasizes the importance of such donations, noting that every jar of peanut butter contributes directly to alleviating hunger in the community.
