A city of Midland employee’s heroic actions earned him recognition. Plumbing inspector Keith Dieterich is the recipient of the city’s Be The Energy Award for recently saving the lives of three residents.
According to an August 31 Facebook post attributed to the city, Dieterich was conducting a routine inspection at a residence when an explosion unexpectedly occurred. Consequently, Dieterich hustled the occupants to safety.
The post thanked the Midland Fire Department (MFD) and the Midland Police Department (MPD) for providing further assistance in response to the incident.
The city’s Code Enforcement Division nominated Dieterich for the accolade, which takes its name from the city’s motto.
Dieterich’s accomplishment allowed the city to remind residents to use its new SeeClickFix online feature to report issues like potholes or park concerns. SeeClickFix can also be used to recognize employees like Dieterich for a job well done, according to the post.
