The city of Midland’s Purchasing Division has earned the 2024 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute (NPI).
An August 31 Facebook post attributed to the city praised employees Erika Martinez, Regina Stephenson, and the entire division’s hard work and dedication.
The division is responsible either directly or through delegation of authority for the purchase or contracting of all materials, supplies, equipment, and contractual services needed by any and all of the city’s departments.
According to the post, the accolade exemplifies the staff’s commitment toward the city’s five-year Strategic Plan for 2024-2029, specifically to provide sound governance and fiscal management.
The NPI was founded in 1968 as a non-profit organization to serve public procurement professionals internationally. It established the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award in 1995 to recognize organizations that demonstrate commitment to innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes.
