For the second consecutive month, the number of passengers flying out of Midland International Air & Space Port exceeded 70,000. Airport officials reported that 70,244 passengers flew with Southwest Airlines, American Eagle, United, or Delta during July.
The total for July represents a 14.5% increase compared to July 2023 and brings the fiscal year total to 615,918 passengers. This figure is 12.71% higher than FY 2023 and indicates that a new yearly record will likely be set at Midland International Air & Space Port. The current record of 661,842 was established last year with two months remaining in the fiscal year.
Parking revenues have also risen significantly. The City of Midland reported net parking revenues exceeding $800,000 for July. The total of $807,270 marks a 15.72% increase over July 2023 figures. For the fiscal year so far, nearly $7 million has been collected in parking fees—a rise of 15.68% compared to the first ten months of FY 2023.
Other metrics indicate positive trends as well: fuel sales in July reached 741,329 gallons, a 15.48% increase from last year; cumulative fuel sales for this fiscal year stand at 6.844 million gallons, reflecting a 9.08% increase.
