Born in Midland, Texas, on June 5, 1964, Robert "Bobby" Keith Hillin Jr. emerged as an American stock car racing force. His racing roots sprouted at 13, winning Odessa Speedbowl's track championship. Hillin entered NASCAR at 17, debuting at North Wilkesboro Speedway in 1982. Graduating high school before the 1983 Coca-Cola World 600, he joined Stavola Brothers Racing in 1984, securing a historic win at Talladega in 1986.
