Earth, Body, & Soul will host its monthly Empath Support Group from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 333 N. Midkiff Road, Suite C, in Midland. The event, which occurs on the last Thursday of every month, typically draws between 10 to 20 participants seeking solace and support.

According to WebMD, an empath is someone who provides emotional support to others, often absorbing their emotions mentally, emotionally, or physically during conversations. While the other person leaves feeling lighter, the empath retains these emotions, which can accumulate and lead to feeling overwhelmed. This often makes it difficult for empaths to manage their daily lives.

“They tend to struggle with setting healthy boundaries, saying no, and prioritizing their own needs over those of others,” said Bridget Fulfer, owner of Earth, Body & Soul. “Empath types include emotional empaths, physical empaths, and energy empaths just to name a few.”

Fulfer emphasized that Earth, Body & Soul aims to support empaths by helping them feel heard and validated in their daily emotional struggles, reassuring them that they are not alone. “We strive to create a space of support and work diligently to provide a safe haven for those who spend so much time supporting others,” she said.

“Earth, Body & Soul brings a holistic approach to wellness to the Midland community, offering a variety of classes, workshops, and social events that focus on physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being,” Fulfer said.

The organization also provides specialized spiritual support groups and resources not only for empaths but also for those seeking spiritual connections. They also host a monthly men’s support group and are working toward establishing a trauma support group for individuals coping with PTSD, according to Fulfer.

“We are working hard towards creating a nurturing environment where individuals can explore and enhance their overall health, balance, and emotional resilience in a safe, non-judgmental environment,” she said. “Through our community engagement and volunteer efforts, we strive to support the diverse needs of our community, fostering a space of healing and growth for everyone.”

Fulfer highlighted that the shop currently hosts various classes, workshops, socials, and more each month. They also collaborate with other local businesses and non-profits that share their vision and are dedicated to providing support.

“We truly love what we do and feel blessed to support the Midland and Odessa community,” she said. “We strive to connect with each person who walks through our door, offering an authentic and welcoming space where others can feel comfortable being themselves.”

This is a free event, but attendees are kindly asked to RSVP on the Earth, Body & Soul website or in the shop as space is limited.
