Midland Crime Stoppers has announced a $1,000 cash reward for information that could assist the Midland County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) in their investigation of an alleged homicide which took place on May 12.

According to the Midland Times, MCSO deputies were initially dispatched to handle an unidentified medical situation in the 10,000 block of FM 1788 South on the morning of May 12.

The publication, citing a Facebook post from the law enforcement agency, reported that upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a deceased male who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.

The sheriff's office inferred foul play and is therefore treating the incident as a homicide, as reported by Midland Times.

The authorities initially focused their investigation on the victim's 18-wheeler. However, according to a Facebook post dated May 15 by Midland Crime Stoppers, this vehicle has since been cleared of involvement.

Midland Crime Stoppers is urging anyone with information to contact them at 694-TIPS or use the P3 mobile TIPS app. The organization assures that all tips will remain anonymous.
