Midland ISD has proudly announced that Early College High School (ECHS) at Midland College has been recognized as one of the Best High Schools by U.S. News and World Report. The latest rankings place ECHS at No. 141 out of more than two thousand high schools across Texas, solidifying its position as the No. 1 public high school in the Midland metropolitan area.

Key highlights include a 100% graduation rate, 100% passage of all subjects on the STAAR, and 96% meeting grade level on STAAR testing. These results are indicative of the school's exceptional academic programs, faculty, and student achievements. Furthermore, the school's collaboration with Midland College continues to yield accomplishments that garner both local and national recognition.

"We are thrilled and honored to receive these prestigious rankings from U.S. News," expressed ECHS Principal Blanca Golson. "Our dedicated educators, motivated students, and supportive community should all celebrate this distinction. We are committed to providing an educational experience that prepares students for success in higher education and beyond."

This accolade follows last year's recognition when the campus was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

ECHS is a four-year high school in partnership with Midland College where students have the opportunity to graduate high school with an associate degree and enter college ready for a bachelor's degree program at no cost.
