In an interview with Midland Times, Midland at-large city councilman Eric Davidson discussed securing the at-large seat.

MT: What message would you like to convey to your supporters and constituents who helped make this victory possible?

First off, thank you. Thank you to everyone that supported this campaign, and thank you to all of those that voted and made this happen.

This campaign was focused around building towards the future for Midland, and the city of Midland showed in this election that they want to keep moving forward. I have mentioned this quite a bit over the last two months, but I am excited about the future of Midland. I want to help build Midland's vision for the future, ensure that we are creating a place for that next generation to come back to, and focus on driving businesses and growth to our community. I am ready to get to work for everyone.

MT: Were there any individuals or groups that had a significant impact on your candidacy or anyone you would like to specifically thank?

There were an abundant amount of individuals and groups that were significant to this campaign, and I know there isn't room here to name them all, but thank you for everything y'all did. I want to thank my wife Kasey and my family for their sacrifices and prayers. This campaign truly became a full family affair. I had the opportunity to knock on over a 1,000 doors in Midland, and oftentimes I was bringing along one to four kids with me. We had a blast doing it, and thank you to everyone that helped knock on doors and campaign for me during the campaign.

Thank you to the Harper's who helped manage the campaign, host events and help sacrifice their time for my family and this campaign. Thank you to the former leaders who helped guide me, encourage me and provide their wisdom, and I can't wait to continue working with y'all in this new capacity.

Lastly, I had a great core team helping with my social media and marketing and this campaign wouldn't have been successful without y'all.

MT: What does this win mean to you personally and professionally?

This means a lot to me. I started this campaign as a concerned citizen, husband and father that just wanted to step in and help lead this city into the future.

I can't wait to start having conversations with more Midlander's about what they care about and what they want to see from their city. I am and will be focused on helping improve this city, and am ready to get to work for Midland!
