Mikey Dogs, a popular eatery in Midland, is seeking a new location after selling its last hot dog at the American Legion on April 28. The upcoming location will serve as the establishment's summer spot and will operate under new hours.

According to KOSA News, a CBS affiliate in Permian Basin, the American Legion Post 19, which previously hosted Mikey Dogs, has begun offering its own full-time food service. This development has prompted Mike Schlatman, the proprietor of Mikey Dogs, to search for a new site.

Schlatman, an Army veteran, expressed satisfaction with his time at the American Legion, as reported by KOSA.

Mikey Dogs's Facebook page describes the establishment as "Midland's authentic NY dog," serving Nathan's all-beef dogs made in famous NYC pushcart "dirty water".

In terms of finding an ideal new location for his eatery, Schlatman suggested that a bar or club would be suitable. He typically serves his fare late into the night, according to KOSA.

While Mikey Dogs' tenure at the post ended with the latter setting up its own kitchen, Tina Grace, the post's service officer, strongly endorsed others trying Schlatman's cart. This information was also reported by KOSA.

Customers wishing to order from Mikey Dogs can continue to do so via GrubHub, DoorDash and Uber Eats. In-person orders can be placed on Big Spring Street next to Midland Self Storage between Thursday and Sunday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
