The Midland Police Department (MPD) has announced that the 11th annual Bustin’ for Badges Clay Shoot is scheduled to take place from May 1-3 at Windwalker Farm in Martin County. The MPD has informed potential participants that slots for the event are rapidly being filled.

According to an April 25 post on the MPD's Facebook page, the shoot supports Permian Basin law enforcement agencies including the Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the Odessa Police Department (OPD), the Ector County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO), and the MPD itself.

As stated on the event's website, sponsorships include a gun board for $30,000; lunch for $20,000; registration giveaways for $15,000; golf carts for $12,000; and safeties for $5,000.

This year’s presenting sponsor is Pioneer Natural Resources.

Bustin’ for Badges, a non-profit organization established in 2014, has raised more than $4 million to date.

Each of these four law enforcement agencies uses the proceeds from this event to purchase new equipment and technology.
