Sharing Hands A Respite Experience (SHARE) announced its 15th annual walk will be held on April 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Astound Broadband Stadium. The free event is open to the public and designed for families raising children with special needs and disabilities.

The opening ceremony at the event will feature an announcement from the City of Midland, SHARE Marketing and Development Director Cali Trowbridge told Midland Times. The walk will feature kid- and family-friendly activities, and prizes will be given to the top fundraising team, the largest team, and the team with the “best” T-shirts.

According to Trowbridge, last year's walk featured 3,056 participants and raised $93,000. SHARE’s fundraising goal for this year is $100,000.

As of April 16, $69,930.74 has been raised, according to their website. Event proceeds will remain within the Basin and its SHARE families.
