Mayor Lori Blong announced the City of Midland had achieved zero audit findings for the fiscal year 2023 for the first time in nearly 20 years. The announcement was made in a Facebook post.

Zero audit findings signify that there were no issues, discrepancies, or errors found in the financial records, processes, or procedures throughout the fiscal year. This accomplishment reflects the city's commitment to responsible stewardship of public funds and demonstrates a clean bill of health for Midland's finances, according to Mayor Blong.

"This is the first time Midland has achieved zero audit findings in at least 20 years. Kudos to our Finance Director, finance department, and City staff for their hard work and diligence," Mayor Blong wrote in the Facebook post.

Under the leadership of the Finance Director and with the dedication of the finance department and City staff, Midland has implemented new systems over the past year. The attainment of zero audit findings serves as a demonstration of the positive outcomes of these new systems, according to the Facebook post.

"The City of Midland is committed to fiscal responsibility and transparency," Mayor Blong stated. "I'm incredibly proud of our finance department - keep up the good work!"
