Strambler, Regalado lead Lady Rebels to win at West Texas Relays

The Midland Legacy Lady Rebels came out on top for the second straight week with 165 points in the 80th West Texas Relays at Ratliff Stadium on March 8, led by Aaralyn Strambler and Mia Regalado who had two golds apiece. The Rebels beat out runner-up Odessa Permian, who had 124 points.

Strambler took gold in the 100-meter dash and the long jump. In the 100 meters, Strambler had a time of 12.46. She had a leap of 18 feet, 4 inches in the long jump.

Regalado also won a pair of golds. She won the 1600 meters with a time of 5:49, and also the 3200 meters with with a time of 12:19.70.

Bolaji Subair won the gold for discus with a toss of 154 feet, 4.5 inches. Pamela Outarra was second with a distance of 119 feet, 1 inch. Sydnee Patman narrowly missed the podium with a toss of 104 feet, 1 inch.

They flip flopped in the shot put, with Outarra winning gold with a toss of 41 feet, 11 inches. Subair was second with a throw of 41 feet, 9 inches.

Victoria Salazar won the pole vault with a height of 10 feet, 3 inches. Elizabeth Garcia was second at 9 feet.

Skye Lopez took gold in the 400 meters, clocking in at 1:01.82. Jada Mathis was third with a time of 1:05.29.

The 4x200 meter relay team won silver with a time of 1:48.29. The team included Esther Adetimehin, Aliyah Valdez, Jaelynn Norman and Tarayah Hubert.

In the 200-meter dash, Iyana Smith won bronze with a time of 26.44.

The 4x100 meter relay team won bronze with a time of 50.25. The team included Cayzli Wilson, Valdez, Adetimehin and Hubert.

The JV team also won the meet with a score of 136. San Angelo Central was in second with a score of 132.

Rebel boys’ track (third place, 105 points)

Cade Decker won the shot put with a distance of 49 feet, 11 inches. He won silver in the discus with a throw of 149 feet.

In the 110 meter hurdles, Masseye Diop took gold with a time of 15:50. Right behind him was fellow Rebel Jayden Holmes-Lopez, with a silver medal time of 15.75.

Logan Meade won the gold in the 400 meters with a time of 51.24.

Nicalus Moore was second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.49. He also won silver in long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 5 inches.

Alexis Chavez was third in long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 3 inches.

In pole vault, Dominik Barraza had a height of 12 feet for the bronze medal.

In the 200 meters, Ayden Granado took third with a time of 23.06.

The Midland Legacy 4x200-meter-relay team was third with a time of 1:33.05. The team included Harlem Brown, Christian Imperial, Nicalus Moore and Ayden Granado.
