Rosie Talley, West Texas resident and children’s book author, said the multifaceted nature of her book's promotion entails school visits, assemblies, and story times, as well as active involvement in markets and expos, highlighting her willingness to push beyond her natural shyness and introverted nature to engage with readers for the love of her work. Talley was a guest on a recent episode of the Best of Midland Podcast, where she gave insights into self-publishing her book.
“A lot of school visits, which is so much fun,” said Talley on a recent edition of the Best of Midland Podcast. “Some assemblies at the school, which I never would have imagined that I could do something like that because in my real life, I'm very shy, very introverted, very reserved. So if you had asked me three years ago if this is something I even thought I could do, the answer would be no. But I just love Linus so much that I was able to push beyond that fear.”
“So, a lot of school visits, a lot of story times, some markets, like I do the farmers' market, shopping expos, things like that,” Talley said.
Linus the Troll is a children’s picture book about a troll named Linus who looks frightening on the outside, but is actually friendly and loving. Talley has also published a second Linus book, The Island of Huggles, and a guide called How to Self-Publish a Children's Book.
