Cheyenne Heady, female barber out of Midland, Texas, says that small business owners need to set personal goals within their businesses in order to motivate and push themselves and their businesses to greater heights.
“I set personal goals for myself, and I’ll be like ‘today I’m gonna make 600 dollars’,” said Cheyenne Heady on a recent edition of the Best of Midland Podcast. “If I pass it, cool, and if I don’t, I’m gonna do better tomorrow.”
“I just strive for bigger,” said Heady. “Especially being your own boss you need that. Because if not, you’re just waking up and going to the same job.”
Deatra (Dee) Mesa and Cheyenne Heady opened Off The Wall Barbershop early in 2023. Off The Wall gained attention as they became known for their sensory-friendly haircuts. As a walk-in based shop, they accept everyone for haircuts, but Cheyenne’s experience with her own autistic son, they have become well known for their skill in that area.
