Jacob Parras of Midland finished 25,333rd in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 16 bracket in the week ending April 8.

They earned no points to finish the week with 40 single points.

Their ranking rose by 549 over the week before.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.
