Midland tennis player Cameron Newton ranks in Boys’ 18 combined points bracket in week ending Feb. 18

Cameron Newton of Midland finished 5,661st in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 18 bracket in the week ending Feb. 18.

They earned zero points to finish the week with 71 total points.

Their ranking rose by four over the week before.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.
