Midland tennis player Lyndon Kowalczyk ranks in Boys’ 18 combined points bracket in week ending Feb. 11

Lyndon Kowalczyk of Midland finished 6,923rd in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 18 bracket in the week ending Feb. 11.

They earned zero points to finish the week with 50 total points.

Their ranking fell by 35 from the week before.

There are 40 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
