USTA: Hudson Smith of Midland ranks 31,073rd in Boys’ 12 singles points bracket in week ending Nov. 19

Hudson Smith of Midland finished 31,073rd in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 12 bracket in the week ending Nov. 19.

They lost eight points to finish the week with 12 single points.

Their ranking fell by 551 from the week before.

There are 43 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
