USTA: Bailey Placke of Midland ranks 28,763rd in Girls’ 18 singles points bracket in week ending Nov. 5

Bailey Placke of Midland finished 28,763rd in the United States Tennis Association’s Girls’ 18 bracket in the week ending Nov. 5.

They earned no points to finish the week with eight single points.

Their ranking rose by 331 over the week before.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
