Midland tennis player Lexi Torres ranks in Girls’ 18 bonus points bracket in week ending Oct. 22

Lexi Torres of Midland finished 1,293rd in the United States Tennis Association’s Girls’ 18 bracket in the week ending Oct. 22.

They have zero bonus points having earned zero in the last week.

Their ranking rose by 2 from the week before.

There are 50 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.
