Midland tennis player Rhodes McAlister ranks in Boys’ 12 singles points bracket in week ending April 16

Rhodes McAlister of Midland finished 27,900th in the United States Tennis Association’s Boys’ 12 bracket in the week ending April 16.

They earned 24 points to finish the week with 24 single points.

There are 42 USTA players from Midland across all age categories.

Players earn points per round in tournaments, winning higher points the further into a tournament they advance.

Jarett Cascino of New York Tennis Magazine says tennis is one of the most competitive youth sports.

“There is always someone better than you on any given day, even if you are the number one player in the world!” he said.
