Adopt a Pet
When you adopt, you’re changing the path of a pet. And knowing that you’ve saved a life will definitely change yours.
Start a new chapter of your lives together. One filled with snuggles, adventure, silliness, laughter — the list is endless.
Why adopt?
In Midland, there are thousands of cats and dogs that end up in a shelter and on a euthanasia list. They’re healthy and full of life and love. All they need is a permanent home.
You can’t buy love — but you can adopt it. There really is no reason to buy a pet from a breeder when you can save a life instead.
Benefits of Adopting a Pet from MHC
When you adopt from MHC, you can rest assured that:
- Your pet is healthy. Our vet techs select the healthiest cats and dogs with wonderful temperaments from the Midland Animal Services shelter's euthanasia list.
- Your pet has been temperament-tested. Vet techs, trainers, and volunteers work to rehabilitate and socialize pets so that they’re as ready to be introduced to their new homes as they can be.
- Your pet has been fully vaccinated. All the pets in our care have received the proper vaccinations to protect them from diseases. You will be responsible for ensuring their shots are kept up-to-date.
- Your pet is microchipped. We have microchipped all the pets in our care to help ensure their safe return should they ever wander off and get lost. You will be responsible for registering (for free) and keeping your contact info updated.
- Your pet has been spayed/neutered. This surgery is highly recommended by veterinarians for its many benefits. Moreover, it will prevent unwanted pregnancies, which lead to the problem of pet overpopulation.
